I grew up in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. I’ve played the viola since I was 10 years old and started taking it seriously at 12. At 14 I went away to Interlochen Arts Camp and never wanted to leave! At 16 I was accepted as a student at Interlochen Arts Academy (IAA), a competitive placement high school, and attended IAA for my senior and post graduate years of high school.
For my first two years of college, I attended the Chicago College of Performing Arts in the South Loop of downtown Chicago. I then felt that it was then time for a change of pace from the competitive music scene and packed up and moved to Boulder, Colorado to complete my college education and earn a B.A. in Music at CU-Boulder in May 2007.
After college I went back to school to earn a business certificate, travel the world for 6 weeks, and spend eight months working temping jobs by day and earning my certificate in Paralegal Studies by night.
After almost a year as a government contract paralegal the bottom fell out of the economy and my job disappeared; I keep busy working as a music librarian of sorts, babysitting. To keep busy I even did a stint in a grocery store baker! When Im not working as a temp, most of my free time is being spent reading blogs, pretending to maintain this website, relearning how to do yoga, working on my needlework skills (knitting and sewing), relearning how to play the viola, playing Wii (Wii Fit Plus and Mario Cart mostly), trying to each myself how to belly dance with DVDs, and cooking, canning, and baking more than two people should probably eat.
Currently, I am looking for work in the Washington, DC/Montgomery County, MD area. Please contact me if you have any leads, and see my Linked-In profile if you have any questions.
